Mele Kalikimaka from Hawai’i!

I am home on Oahu for the holidays, and it is always a wish come true. A few of my favorite things: Manapuas and Spam musubi, sunsets at Kaimana Beach, hiking to Maunawili Falls, day trips to the North Shore, and most importantly, causing mischief with my friends from high school.

People often ask what it is like to celebrate Christmas in Hawai’i, and mostly it is similar to the mainland: We have Christmas trees (shipped in), the stores all carry sweaters (why? who knows – but it makes for great winter sales!), Christmas music plays everywhere and there are long lines at the mall… and then we spend the day on the beach!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from paradise!
