It’s that time of the year again: time to break out the sweaters and round up your friends for some apple picking or pumpkin plucking or whatever wholesome seasonal activity will make you feel like a real person instead of a depressed cubicle dweller, if only for a weekend. (Note: Said wholesome activity is made 10x better with some hard apple cider and copious amounts of pie.) In 3 years of living the city life in New York, I swear I’ve tried every day-hike within a 2-hour drive of Manhattan, and Pound Ridge was one of my favorites. Located 1.5hrs north of the city, it’s got hiking trails and camp grounds in a stunning setting. Be sure to visit soon to see the fall foliage in full effect.
For another getaway this fall, check out apple picking near the city.
