The Hidden, the Beautiful, Wadi Bani Kharus

We recently discovered our new favorite wadi near our house. Hidden deep in a winding valley between Nakhal and Rustaq, the village of Al Alia is literally at the end of the road, and the water starts where the gravel ends. This picturesque village will have you thinking you’d arrived in the Garden of Eden with the lush plantations and clear swimming holes. My goats certainly seemed to agree! A few miles down the road are some great cliffs for climbing if you happen to have some equipment with you, though the locals made fools of us when they scrambled up barefoot.
