Alright, I’m not actually suggesting Willets Point as a travel destination, and maybe you should think twice about visiting at all. BUT Thomas Prior‘s photos do show the power of photography to bring you to places you’d otherwise never go and to see the beauty in the mundane. This gritty neighborhood in Queens is known as the auto repair district of New York City, once immortalized in The Great Gatsby and now undergoing rapid changes to accommodate the nearby Met’s CitiField stadium. Gorgeous photos of a perhaps less-than-gorgeous place.
